Pawnshop and Secondhand Merchant Registration & Regulations

Every pawnbroker or non-exempt secondhand merchandise dealer is required to keep a register of each article of property that a person pawns or sells to the pawnbroker or secondhand merchandise dealer.  The information is required to be submitted to a statewide repository that is accessible to law enforcement.

Property Disposition
Note: The following Property Disposition Hearing Application may be filled out and submitted to the Division by an original victim or a pawnshop / secondhand merchant ONLY after 30 days have passed since a law enforcement agency placed a hold on or seized an item from a pawnshop or secondhand merchant.  Please review U.C.A. 13-32a-117 for more details on your rights and responsibilities related to a property disposition hearing.
